Welcome, I’m Aly, founder of The Village Doula.
Supporting mothers and families through pregnancy, postpartum and early parenthood across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast and the Hunter.
I am passionate about supporting women, mothers and families through the many transitions of motherhood with compassionate, evidence informed and personalised care.
As a mum of three myself, I understand that parenting can feel beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting and deeply emotional all at once. Whether you are preparing for your first baby, navigating postpartum recovery, experiencing pregnancy loss, or raising multiple children, you deserve support that feels safe, understanding and non judgemental.

Before becoming a doula, I spent more than 20 years working as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse supporting babies and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
I later retrained as both a counsellor and postpartum doula, allowing me to combine clinical experience with emotional support and holistic family care. This unique combination helps me support families not only practically, but emotionally and mentally too.

I believe in supporting the mother just as much as the baby. So often, new mums are expected to keep going while quietly carrying the emotional, physical and hormonal load of early motherhood. My role is to nurture and support you through this season so you feel heard, cared for and less alone.
I believe strong support networks matter because motherhood was never meant to be done in isolation. Many families today do not have the village they need, or they struggle to ask for help. That is why I created The Village Doula.
Through postpartum support, counselling, education and community connection, I help families feel more confident, supported and empowered in their parenting journey. Together, we work on creating a calmer and more connected family life that feels less like survival mode.
